{"id":88,"date":"2019-08-09T01:58:21","date_gmt":"2019-08-09T01:58:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rubiconvalley.co.nz\/new\/?page_id=88"},"modified":"2024-08-26T22:20:22","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T22:20:22","slug":"treks","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rubiconvalley.co.nz\/new\/treks\/","title":{"rendered":"Our amazing treks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">(1) Two Hour River Trek<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>See the spectacular mountain views of the Torlesse basin as you trek through the valley to the Otarama lookout point over the magnificent snow fed Waimakariri Canyon whilst riding through our high country farm.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stop for refreshments and fantastic photo opportunities overlooking the Canyon before we ride down the terraces, following a musterers&#8217; trail through the farmland.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ride is suitable for all riding abilities and fitness but caters also for the more experienced riders with some opportunities for faster paced riding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris usually leads this trek and he likes to keep groups small. We endeavour to keep groups to a maximum of six riders. You will enter the valley floor and amble along the cold mountain fed stream.  Discover the hidden trail entering the mystic pools before riding out to the Otarama Look Out whilst viewing the incredible Canyon of the Mighty Waimakariri River and then follow the musterers&#8217; trail as you descend the Waimakariri Canyon and then travel back up through the mystic forest before returning to base.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ride is suitable for all riding abilities and fitness but caters also for the more experienced riders with plenty of opportunities for some faster paced riding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris usually leads this trek and he likes to keep groups small.
